The University of New Mexico–Valencia Library seeks a Library Information Specialist III to join our small, dedicated team committed to providing exceptional service, resources, and support to our campus community. This position plays a vital role in the daily operations of the library, contributing to service‑improvement initiatives and helping foster a welcoming, inclusive environment for all users.

The Library Information Specialist III oversees and supports key aspects of library operations, including student employee supervision, circulation, resource sharing (Inter‑library Loan/Document Delivery), course reserves, information and research help, and collection maintenance. The ideal candidate is an adaptable, service‑oriented professional who values collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree; at least 3 years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.
  • Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year‑for‑year basis.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Demonstrated skill in the use of databases and Library Management Systems.
  • Experience working with under‑prepared students and awareness of the library’s role in facilitating student success in a community college.
  • Experience providing public service and reference support in an academic library setting.
  • A demonstrated commitment to cultivating an understanding of the rich and varied cultures of New Mexico and to the success of the university's mission to serve local and global communities.
  • Experience in library instruction, outreach, or staff/student employee training.
