Position Summary
The Department of Teacher Education, Educational Leadership, and Policy (TEELP) at the UNM College of Education and Human Sciences is seeking candidates for temporary, part‑time faculty to teach undergraduate and graduate level courses. The College is a future‑oriented, dynamic professional school organized around the values of advocacy, building professional identities, collaboration, strong school/university partnerships, diversity & social justice, interdisciplinary inquiry, scholarship, and teaching, learning, and leadership.

We are recruiting part‑time instructors in the following areas: mathematics education, science education, reading/literacy/English language arts, social studies education, educational technology, and general education courses.
These part‑time instructors are expected to teach undergraduates and graduates in elementary and/or secondary licensure programs, supporting teacher candidates in learning from their field experience and building competence, care, cultural responsiveness, self‑reflection, collegiality, and evidence‑based assessment.

- EDUC 353L Teaching Science K‑8
- EDUC 361L Teaching Mathematics K‑8
- EDUC 362 Teaching Experience (7‑12 seminar and field experience)
- EDUC 401/402/403 Creating Effective K‑8 Learning Environments and corresponding EDUC Field (seminar and field experience supervision)
- EDUC 462 Student Teaching Secondary
- EDUC 464 Student Teaching Seminar Secondary (Language Arts, Mathematics/Science, Social Studies/World Language)
- EDUC 595 Field Experiences (equivalent of 3 hours) – A seminar linked to student teaching to address issues of teaching as a profession.

Teaching of Secondary Sciences
- Master’s degree in education or a directly related field if applying to teach undergraduate level courses.
- Ph.D. or equivalent in education or a closely related field.
- Potential to teach online or experience in online teaching.
- Demonstrated ability to teach at the college level.
- A commitment to cultivating an understanding of the rich and varied cultures of New Mexico and to the success of the university’s mission to serve local and global communities.
