Assistant Professor in Special Education Teacher Preparation and Inclusive Practices
The University of New Mexico’s College of Education and Human Sciences invites applications for a tenure‑track Assistant Professor position in the undergraduate Dual License program with expertise in the area of special education teacher preparation and inclusive practices. This faculty member will extend the teaching, research, and service mission of the Special Education Department.
Responsibilities- Supervise students in field placements.
- Teach courses specific to the preparation of special educators to serve the diverse needs of students with disabilities.
- Conduct scholarly work relevant to the preparation of pre‑ and in‑service educators to work with pre‑K‑12 students with disabilities in inclusive settings.
- Collaborate with colleagues in the Special Education Department and assist with coordination of the Dual License program, including recruitment and evaluation of potential cooperating teachers and ongoing collaboration with program partners.
Minimum Qualifications
A signed letter of application that includes a detailed statement of qualifications explicitly addressing each of the minimum and preferred qualifications;
A complete and up-to-date curriculum vitae;
Transcripts of all graduate coursework (readable, unofficial copies will be accepted);
A copy of one professional publication;
