Nursing- DNP Program Director

Position Summary

The College of Nursing is seeking a Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) Program Director. The position will be part of the Clinician Educator track and will work closely with the Assistant Dean of Professional Graduate Programs and the DNP Program Coordinator. The assigned workload is per policy. In addition to the contract salary, this position has an administrative performance supplement for a directorship, which is $5,000 annually and is prorated based upon effective dates of service.

• Responsible for the delivery, evaluation, and student experience in the DNP core curriculum, EIP core and systems learning courses in collaboration with the DNP Program Coordinator and faculty.
• Overall coordination of courses, faculty, and students; facilitating effective communication to support development and delivery of the DNP general curriculum.
• Work within the faculty governance structure regarding curriculum and policy development to ensure alignment with AACN Essentials, national and CCNE standards.
• Maintain effective communication with the Assistant Dean of Professional Graduate Programs and other Program Directors, ensuring adherence to CON and University policies.
• Coordinate with Student Services personnel to ensure the integrity of the admissions process and adherence to CON admissions policy specifically for post‑Masters DNP applicants.
• Ensure the DNP general curriculum conforms with regulations and accreditation standards.
• Develop and maintain relationships with community partners; prepare students to develop, implement, and evaluate their DNP scholarly projects.
• Involved in recruitment and retention of students, conduct gap analyses for post‑master's students, and actively orient new faculty.
• Work with the Program Evaluation Committee to develop and implement a comprehensive evaluation plan; collaborate with faculty to interpret data for continuous program improvement.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Doctoral degree in nursing or related field.
• Knowledge of DNP curriculum and curriculum development.
• Experience teaching within a graduate nursing program.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Doctor of Nursing Practice degree.
• Experience in program management, including curriculum refinement and student progress.
• Demonstrated leadership in mentoring and development of emerging leaders within healthcare settings.
• Demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and student success, as well as working with broadly diverse communities.
• Team building skills to assemble and lead a diverse team of faculty and staff, fostering a collaborative and productive working environment.
