This position is for the UNM‑Gallup Branch, located in Gallup, NM, approximately 138 miles west of Albuquerque, NM.

The University of New Mexico‑Gallup Branch, Nursing and Human Services Division, anticipates hiring adjunct faculty to teach face‑to‑face and/or develop lower division courses (1000‑2000 level) in the Fall 2025, Spring 2026, and Summer 2026 semesters in the following anticipated potential areas:

• Nursing assistant didactic and/or skills
• Nursing assistant clinicals
• LPN clinicals
• Nursing skills laboratory
• Nursing simulation
• Adult health and illness clinical
• Pediatric health and illness clinical
• Maternal/child health and illness clinical
• Mental health and illness clinical
• Human Growth and Development
• Human Nutrition
• Pathophysiology
• NMNC didactic nursing courses

UNM Gallup is a two‑year branch campus of the University of New Mexico located approximately 138 miles west of Albuquerque. The University of New Mexico established branch colleges to provide the highest quality of education for students pursuing post‑secondary education at different locations throughout the state. Branch colleges respond specifically to the unique needs and multicultural backgrounds of their respective communities by offering community education programs, career and technical education including certificate and associate degree programs, and transfer programs that prepare students for upper‑division entry into colleges and universities.

The Nursing and Human Services Division at UNM Gallup Branch is seeking qualified temporary part‑time faculty members to teach lower division classes in various courses or topics as specified above. UNM Gallup instructors are responsible for all aspects of any class they are teaching including but not limited to meeting face‑to‑face with the class during assigned times that may include evenings or weekends, content delivery, assignment development, grading assignments, reporting of grades, and assessment of student learning as outlined by the division chair.

Positions are contingent upon need each semester as determined by student enrollment levels, current course offering matrix, and demand driven by graduation requirements. Positions may be filled or eliminated each semester up to the deadline for students to drop or add courses. Candidates who are selected for these positions will report to the division chair.

Adjunct Faculty are currently compensated on the basis of their credentials and credit hour course loads, as follows:

• Terminal Degree, plus 12 hours College teaching – $1,228.24 per credit hour
• Terminal Degree, less than 12 hours College teaching – $1,178.88 per credit hour
• Master’s Degree, plus 12 hours College teaching – $1,135.26 per credit hour
• Master’s Degree, less than 12 hours College teaching – $1,135.26 per credit hour
• Bachelor’s Degree plus 12 hours College teaching – $1,135.26 per credit hour
• Bachelor’s Degree, less than 12 hours College teaching – $1,135.26 per credit hour

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in nursing.
• Unrestricted, active New Mexico RN license or multistate RN compact license.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Master’s degree or higher in nursing.
• Two years of clinical nursing experience.
• Demonstrated commitment to cultivate an understanding of the rich and varied cultures of New Mexico and to the success of the university’s mission to serve local and global communities.
