Position Summary

* UNM Career Services is seeking a highly motivated candidate for the position of Program Assistant for LoboGROW. This role is ideal for a student with a strong interest in career and professional development, human resources, training and development, learning sciences, organizational behavior, student affairs in higher education, or related fields. This position offers hands-on experience in program planning and development, cross-campus collaborations, informational presentations and training, short and long-term planning, and will supporting the overall goals of the program.

The selected student will have an opportunity to build professional experience and develop their leadership capabilities. The program aligns with student learning outcomes (UNM
5) as well as the UNM Strategic Plan and the UNM Division of Student Affairs Strategic Plan.

After successfully piloting LoboGROW, the selected candidate will assist with continuing to implement and expand the GROW program with key campus student employers. GROW or Guided Reflection on Work was established at The University of Iowa in 2009 with the goal to make student employment a high-impact practice. GROW uses structured reflection to encourage connections and transfer between workplace learning, classroom learning, and future goals.

GROW helps students recognize and articulate what they are learning and make connections between different learning contexts.

LoboGROW Goals:

* To strengthen students' transferable skills across various settings such as the classroom, workplace, and future careers.

* To support student employees with the help of supervisors to enhance their professional inquiries.

* To build and connect stronger relationships between student employees and supervisors throughout the program.

Job Description

The LoboGROW Program Assistant will report directly to the Director of Career Services. The successful candidate must demonstrate professionalism, a high degree of organizational skills, self-motivated work style, mature decision-making ability, strong written and verbal communication skills, effective leadership abilities, and a willingness to learn and to take initiative.

What You'll Do

* Draft, edit, and format a variety of documents, including emails, guides, flyers, outreach materials, and digital content.

* Build and maintain relationships and communicate with campus employers, students, career services staff, and other partners to support collaborative efforts.

* Develop and implement surveys, assist with data collection, evaluations, and participant feedback.

* Participate in program and project planning.

* Schedule and track deliverables, timelines, deadlines, and meeting follow-ups

* Evaluate information and data, and prepare reports, updates, and summaries.

* Help document activities, maintain organized files, and support workflows.

* Support the planning and execution of events such as professional development workshops, trainings, and networking events.

* Assist in creating and giving presentations.

* Conduct research to support projects and initiatives.

* Help maintain and update the LoboGROW website, which may include content creation and layout design.

* Take on additional tasks as assigned.

Requirements for Consideration

* Enrollment in a minimum of 6 credit hours at the University of New Mexico in a degree seeking program for fall and spring semesters (audit hours do not count), and if Work Study, you must meet Satisfactory Academic Progress.

* Minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA.

* Availability to work 20-25 hours per week during the Fall 2025 and Spring 2026 semesters, during Career Services' regular business hours M-F, 8 am - 5 pm.
