The New Mexico Veterans Healthcare System is seeking a full-time, board-eligible/certified Orthopedic Surgeon to join our team. Help us transform healthcare for our veterans in times of great need. We have positions throughout New Mexico that may match your geographic preferences.

Work Schedule
  • Monday to Friday, 8am - 4:30pm
Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct weekly bedside rounds with assigned staff to discuss patient care, policies, and findings from QA monitors and staff concerns.
  • Address problem identification and resolution through documentation (memorandums, reports of contact, incident reports, etc.).
  • Assess, plan, and evaluate the quality and appropriateness of patient care.
  • Participate in clinical rounds to ensure compliance with standards of care, policies, and safety guidelines.
  • Provide care addressing young adult, middle adult, and geriatric patients' communicative disorders, cognitive deficits, physical limitations, and emotional and behavioral reactions, tailoring care/treatment to age-specific needs.
