Major Duties of the Position:

  • Provide high-quality geriatric medical services in our progressive, innovative health care system for the veteran outpatient and inpatient population.
  • Deliver patient-centered diagnostic and therapeutic care for elderly patients, addressing both acute and chronic medical conditions.
  • Develop and implement individualized care plans to address the specific needs of geriatric patients.
  • Collaborate with other specialists to provide comprehensive care, including cases that may require multidisciplinary management.
  • Utilize advanced diagnostic techniques and treatments tailored to the geriatric population.
  • Teach and mentor medical students, residents, and fellows, contributing to educational development programs affiliated with the University of New Mexico, School of Medicine.
  • Demonstrate a strong commitment to patient care, teaching, and research, and be eligible for a faculty appointment in the relevant department at the University of New Mexico.
  • Work with a multidisciplinary team to provide holistic care for geriatric patients.
  • Participate in research and quality improvement initiatives related to geriatric medicine.
