Position Summary

Nuclear Medicine Physician/Diagnostic Radiologist The Department of Radiology at the University of New Mexico Health Sciences Center seeks a fellow‑trained Nuclear Medicine Physician/Diagnostic Radiologist. The successful candidate will practice cutting‑edge nuclear medicine, with optional opportunities to assist in other subspecialties according to interest or expertise. Full range of nuclear medicine imaging services are available, including Rb‑82 cardiac PET, Ga‑68 and Cu‑64 DOTATATE PET, and F‑18 PSMA PET.

The department collaborates closely with UNM’s comprehensive cancer center and serves as a statewide referral center for nuclear medicine therapies such as I‑131 hyperthyroid and thyroid cancer (with dosimetry), Lu‑177 PRRT for neuroendocrine tumors, and Pluvicto for prostate cancer. Additional opportunities include participation in tumor boards and multidisciplinary conferences, as well as other interdisciplinary activities. Research opportunities are available and encouraged.

State‑of‑the‑art 7T PET/MRI translational imaging and image processing facilities are available, and research is supported by dedicated staff. The department is enhancing its system coverage in an ever‑growing practice. All applicants welcome, including those seeking J‑1 waiver/H-1B sponsorship.

Minimum requirements:

• MD, DO, or equivalent
• Eligible to work in the U.S.
• Able to obtain New Mexico state licensure by date of hire
• American Board of Radiology (A ) board certified or board eligible in Diagnostic Radiology by contract start date
• Board certified or board eligible in Nuclear Medicine (ABNM) or Nuclear Radiology (A  CAQ) by contract start date

Preferred qualifications:

• Additional experience or fellowship training in Abdominal Imaging, Emergency Radiology, Cardiothoracic Radiology, Neuroradiology, or Ultrasound
• Proficiency in oversight and interpretation of adult and pediatric nuclear medicine studies, including general nuclear medicine, PET/CT, SPECT/CT, and nuclear cardiology
• Experience in therapeutic nuclear medicine/theranostics
• Demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and student success, and experience working with diverse communities
