Summary:
Provides comprehensive care services for pediatric GI patients. The Pediatric Gastroenterologist leads the care team in providing efficient and compassionate care.

Responsibilities- Oversees and is accountable for the overall quality of care and clinical outcomes of pediatric GI patients.
- Manages the physician/patient relationship, working to assure patient and family satisfaction with care.
- Participates in system‑wide health management initiatives.
- Provides input into the practice site's financial, clinical, and service quality performance; budget; capital plan; and personnel issues.
- Assists in the development and implementation of pediatric clinical and service standards.
- Receives and resolves patient complaints.
- Participates in the recruitment and replacement of other providers.
- Enhances professional growth and development through participation in educational programs, literature review, in‑services, and workshops.
- Consults with and advises other providers regarding optimal and cost‑effective treatment of pediatric patients.
- Works to assure patient satisfaction with care.
- Participates in team and multispecialty group meetings.
- Maintains coding and encounter data standards for completeness, accuracy, timeliness and reimbursement level.
- Performs other functions as required.
- MD/DO with BC/BE in Pediatric Gastroenterology (new BC/BE graduates welcome).
- State of New Mexico medical license.
- Experience in outpatient clinics and inpatient consultations for pediatric hospitalist service.
- Ability to perform pediatric GI procedures, consults, and participation in multidisciplinary care.
- Excellent communication skills and commitment to family‑centered care.
- Knowledge of FDA and state regulations for medical licensure (e.g., PSLF qualification).
