As a Construction Observer, you will play a critical role in overseeing the construction phase of projects, ensuring compliance with design specifications, safety regulations, and quality standards.

Your Role & Responsibilities

In this role, you will:

* Provide daily observation of construction activities to verify compliance with project plans and specifications.

* Prepare and maintain accurate daily field reports.

* Track material quantities and unit prices.

* Interpret plans and specifications and maintain a red-line set of construction drawings.

* Assist contractors with RFIs and review material submittals.

* Conduct field testing of construction materials.

* Retrieve and document construction material samples.

* Perform other tasks associated with construction observation and inspection as assigned.

What We Are Looking For

* Education -- You have a high school diploma or equivalent.

* Industry Experience -- You have at least 3+ years of experience in roadway or utility infrastructure construction either with an engineering firm or as an employee of a general construction contractor.

* Project and Construction Knowledge -- You have past experience in construction management or observation.

* Technical and Communication Skills -- You have written and oral communication skills, computer skills (Word and Excel). You have the ability to track unit price quantities, read plans, and understand standard specifications.

* Personal Strengths -- You are determined, organized, detail oriented, and customer focused.

* Bonus Skills -- Construction materials laboratory testing experience is a plus.
