Overview
The Business Consultant provides high-quality, culturally competent consulting and training to entrepreneurs and small business owners in New Mexico. This position supports clients at all stages of business development—start-up, growth, and expansion—with an emphasis on financial literacy, market readiness, and access to capital.
Additional Areas of ResponsibilityThe Consultant ensures services are inclusive and accessible, strengthens relationships with community and economic development partners, and supports WESST’s mission of fostering entrepreneurship and economic empowerment across the state. Reports to the Albuquerque Program Director. This position is based in Albuquerque and can be hybrid.
Other Information/Requirements- Bachelor’s degree in business, economics, finance, entrepreneurship, or a related field; or equivalent professional experience.
- 3–5 years of experience providing small business consulting, financial coaching, or entrepreneurship training.
- Understands small business operations, marketing, accounting, and loan-readiness.
- Possesses strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
- Demonstrates the ability to work independently and collaboratively within a statewide team.
Full-time, exempt position offering a salary range of $60,000-$70,000.
