Position Summary
The Health, Exercise & Sports Sciences (HESS) Department is seeking a motivated and dependable student with excellent communication and customer service skills to balance administrative responsibilities with professionalism and help create the welcoming environment expected in an academic setting. The student employee will provide general front office administrative and customer service support to ensure smooth daily operations within a large and active academic department.
This position plays an important role in keeping the department organized and running efficiently while maintaining professionalism, confidentiality, and a supportive environment for students, faculty, and visitors.
Responsibilities include:
- Greeting and assisting visitors
- Answering phones and responding to emails
- Mail distribution
- Office supply management
- Supporting room reservations and event logistics
- Assisting with data entry or scheduling tasks.
- Special projects as assigned
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently.
- Basic computer skills (Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook).
