Multi-Unit Team Leader at H&R Block role overview. This position provides leadership over three H&R Block tax offices, supervising customer‑centric teams to accelerate seasonal tax business. You’ll serve as the front‑line manager responsible for leadership and development of associates, delivering an outstanding client experience, and achieving all office growth objectives for the three offices. Prior tax preparation experience is not required.
The role starts with a flexible part‑time schedule in the fall and transitions to full‑time from January to April, including evenings and weekend hours as needed. This role is in‑person and not remote.
- Provide leadership over three H&R Block tax offices and oversee customer‑centric teams to accelerate seasonal tax growth.
- Serve as the front‑line manager responsible for leadership and development of associates, delivering an outstanding client experience and achieving all office growth objectives across three offices.
- Start with a flexible part‑time schedule in the fall and transition to full‑time from January to April, including evenings and weekend hours as needed.
- Travel between offices as required.
- Prepare tax returns as needed, upon successful completion of the Income Tax Course or Tax Knowledge Assessment.
- Assist with staffing, scheduling, and labor coordination; work with Associate Team Leaders and the District General Manager to support three offices.
- Multi‑unit people management experience in retail, restaurant, banking, or related industry.
- Experience managing office staffing, operations, and logistics for multiple offices with support from Associate Team Leaders.
- Ability to partner with the District General Manager to create and implement office growth plans and client growth targets, including developing local partnerships and community involvement.
- Experience assisting with recruiting and interviewing candidates for tax office positions.
- Ability to conduct timely performance reviews and collaborate with the Associate Relations Center to address issues and performance concerns.
- Ability to build an engaging team environment across offices through training and coaching.
- Lead daily team meetings and communicate essential information to tax office associates.
- Create associate work schedules across all offices and ensure accurate timekeeping and labor management.
- Willingness to travel between offices as required.
- Prepare tax returns as needed, after successful completion of the Income Tax Course or Tax Knowledge Assessment.*
- Strong leadership and decision‑making skills; able to operate in a fast‑paced environment with minimal supervision.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with a customer‑centric mindset.
- Computer proficiency with MS Office.
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field, or high school diploma with equivalent experience.
- Successful completion of the H&R Block Tax Knowledge Assessment or Income Tax Course (if preparing tax returns).*
