Work Schedule:

Adjunct faculty positions are appointed on a course‑by‑course, semester basis. Teaching may include face‑to‑face and distance‑learning courses during weekday and weekend sessions.

Job Description

Piedmont Virginia Community College (PVCC) is a two‑year institution serving Central Virginia. We are seeking qualified adjunct faculty members to teach MICROBIOLOGY courses. Applications are considered continuously until positions are filled.

Responsibilities

As an adjunct faculty member:

  • Teach developmental and college‑level microbiology courses, including potential distance‑learning formats.
  • Prepare and deliver engaging, media‑rich lectures and lab sessions.
  • Assess student learning and provide constructive feedback.
  • Maintain accurate records of grades, attendance, and assignments.
  • Participate in departmental meetings and professional development activities.
Qualifications
  • Master’s degree in Microbiology or a related field with a minimum of 18 graduate hours in Microbiology to teach credit‑level coursework.
  • Two years of teaching, work experience in the field, or experience with online teaching.
Required Travel

Travel to and from any college campus/site location as assigned.
