Job Overview

Piedmont Virginia Community College (PVCC) is a nonresidential two-year institution of higher education that serves Central Virginia – principally residents of the City of Charlottesville and the counties of Albemarle, Buckingham, Fluvanna, Greene, Louisa and Nelson. • Teach developmental and/or college-level courses, including distance‑learning courses during the day, evening, weekdays and weekends.
• Primarily face‑to‑face instruction, with the possibility of remote instruction.
• Teach at any PVCC location, including the Giuseppe Center in Greene County and correctional facilities in Fluvanna, Buckingham, and Dillwyn.
• May be required to perform other duties as assigned and assist the agency or state government during an emergency declaration by the Governor.

• Master’s degree in biology or master’s degree and 18 graduate hours in biology.
• Expert skills, knowledge, experience, and education in the subject area with a history of successful teaching or related experience.
• Two years of teaching experience, work experience in the field, and experience with online teaching.
