As a Full Time Grading/Pipe Foreman at JT Russell & Sons, you will directly supervise grade and pipe crew members, fostering a safe and efficient work environment. Your role entails training crew members on operational protocols and safety measures, while meticulously maintaining records of crew time, materials used, and equipment utilization on a daily basis. You'll strategically sequence pipe installations to minimize interference with ongoing project activities and the public.

Effective communication with other foremen, subcontractors, and DOT personnel is essential, as is the ability to read plans and determine project needs.

You will operate all pipe laying equipment in compliance with company procedures and oversee checks to ensure proper functionality. Your commitment to safety will be paramount in creating a secure work environment for everyone involved.

To excel as a Full Time Grading/Pipe Foreman at JT Russell & Sons, you must possess a robust set of skills and qualifications. A minimum of 3 years’ experience in the heavy civil and/or highway industry as a Grading Foreman is essential. You need to be well-organized and capable of understanding work directions while communicating effectively with both management and crew members.

Experience in scheduling materials and employees for projects is critical, along with keen attention to detail and situational awareness to uphold safety standards.

Familiarity with GPS technology is a plus, and holding or obtaining certifications such as Erosion Control Level, Excavation Competent Person, and Work Zone Safety Supervisor is beneficial. You must also be proficient in working outdoors in various weather conditions while maintaining professionalism in interactions with co-workers, inspectors, and the public.

Knowledge and skills required for the position are:

• 3+ years of experience as a Grade/Pipe Foreman in the heavy civil and/or highway industry required.
• Willing to perform some manual labor as needed
• Reliable transportation to and from the Albemarle Office or Jobsite;
  Valid Driver’s License with clean driving record
