Division/Department: Biology

Location Albany Campus, Albany, OR

Assist in lab/lecture rooms and a large prep room, occasional trips to the greenhouse and/or the campus grounds to collect materials. Acts as glassware washer; cleans microscopes, computers, autoclave, balances, incubators, and environmental chamber.

Education and Experience:

• Must maintain enrollment in at least 6 credits at LBCC, maintain satisfactory academic progress throughout each term, maintain a cumulative grade point average of 2.0 or better, and have financial aid in place to be eligible to work in a Work Study student employee capacity at Linn-Benton Community College.

• Experience with freshwater, temperate and/or tropical marine Aquarium husbandry preferred, but not required.
• Experience with horticulture and greenhouse maintenance is preferred, but not required.

• Learned physical skill is required to operate a computer keyboard and/or other office equipment. The ability to observe words and numbers at close range.
• This position requires employees to work with chemicals that are flammable or are otherwise considered potential health hazards. Safety equipment is required.
• Work is performed indoors and considerable time is spent standing/walking.
• May need to kneel and lift boxes under 50 lbs.
• Clean and put away glassware and lab equipment
• Clean lab rooms, set-up and break-down of labs
• Help take care of animals, help collect lab materials
