This role is in-person and not remote. You will start with a flexible part-time schedule in the fall to prepare for the busy tax season, transitioning to full-time January through April, with evening and weekend hours as needed.
Responsibilities- Provide leadership over three H&R Block tax offices and guide customer‑centric teams to accelerate seasonal tax business.
- Serve as the front‑line manager responsible for leadership and development of associates, delivering an outstanding client experience and achieving office growth objectives for three offices.
- Lead daily team meetings, communicate essential information, and create associate work schedules with accurate timekeeping and labor management.
- Travel between offices as required.
- Prepare tax returns as needed, upon successful completion of the Income Tax Course or Tax Knowledge Assessment.
- Partner with the District General Manager (DGM) to create and implement office‑level growth plans and client growth targets, including developing local partnerships and managing office community involvement.
- Assist the DGM in recruiting and interviewing candidates for tax office positions.
- Conduct timely performance reviews and address performance concerns with the Associate Relations Center.
- Build an engaging team environment across all offices by training and coaching associates and recognizing outstanding contributions.
- People management experience, with demonstrated ability to grow and develop associates.
- Aptitude for growth plan execution and leading toward a growth culture.
- Strong decision‑making and judgment skills; able to function effectively in a fast‑paced environment with minimal supervision.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a customer‑centric mindset to understand and exceed client needs.
- Computer proficiency with MS Office.
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field, or a high school diploma with the equivalent combination of experience.
- Successful completion of the H&R Block Tax Knowledge Assessment or Income Tax Course (if preparing tax returns).
