  • Incentives:

    Cost‑of‑Living Adjustment (COLA) of 2.5% effective February 1, 2026 and an additional 4.0% COLA effective January 1, 2027. PERS eligible employees may receive an additional 6.95%.
About The Job – Your Role

As manager, you will oversee a large, multidisciplinary team of Parole and Probation Officers, volunteers, and contract personnel. You will manage day‑to‑day operations, coach staff, update policies, and collaborate with community partners to support successful Adult on Supervision (AOS) outcomes. You will act as a liaison between the agency and external stakeholders and may assume the responsibilities of the Local Community Corrections Director in their absence.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Five (5) years of lead work, supervision, or progressively related experience; OR two (2) years of related experience and a bachelor’s degree in a related field.
  • Certification by the Department of Public Safety Standards and Training in Basic Probation and Parole within eighteen (18) months of hire.
  • Supervisory and Management Certification through DPSST within two (2) years of hire unless already obtained and in good standing.
  • Oregon State driver license and qualifying score on duty firearms (if authorized to carry).
  • Parole and Probation Officer intermediate certification earns an additional 3%; advanced certification earns an additional 6%.
Requested Skills
  • Experience in direct supervision of multidisciplinary teams (POs, case aides, volunteers, etc.)
  • Ability to apply and enforce policies, procedures, and legal standards
  • Experience interpreting criminal justice or correctional regulations
  • Familiarity with evidence‑based practices in parole and probation supervision
  • Understanding of risk/needs assessments and supervision strategies
  • Managing program goals, caseload flow, staffing resources, and reporting
  • Experience updating and implementing procedures to improve service delivery
  • Coordinating with external partners (e.g., treatment providers, housing programs, law enforcement)
  • Preparation and review of professional correspondence, reports, and performance documents
  • Strong verbal communication with staff, external partners, and court officials
  • Public speaking or presenting to boards, stakeholders, or community groups
Special Qualifications
  • Meet DPSST Physical Standards
  • Successfully complete an ODOC background investigation (OAR 259‑008‑0015)
  • Have a history of law‑abiding behavior (OAR 259‑008‑0070)
  • Pass a psychological evaluation and risk assessment as required by HB 2936
  • All applicants and employees are subject to testing for prohibited drug use
Preference

Preference will be given to applicants with experience and education related to community corrections, criminal justice, or law enforcement.
