Position: Mental Health Specialist 1 – MRSS/EASA

Mental Health Specialist 1 - Mobile Response Stabilization Services (MRSS) Early Assessment Support Alliance (EASA)

Mental Health Department (Classification 771) SEIU Represented Full Time (37.5 hours/week) position

Linn County Mental Health is recruiting for an experienced mental health therapist to work as a screener and clinician for EASA, and as a Mobile Response clinician for families and youth experiencing crisis. The person filling this position should be skilled in diagnosis, risk assessment, knowledge of the philosophy of recovery, individual, family, and group therapy, case management, and be able to provide professional consultation.

Both of these roles work within a multidisciplinary team and often perform duties while in the community, including at the consumers’ homes. Successful candidates will also have a growth mindset, value diversity, have a strong desire to promote equity, and be able to collaborate with a variety of personalities and roles.

EASA Responsibilities:
  • The Mental Health Therapist screens, assesses, diagnoses, and treats transition‑age youth ages 15 to 25 experiencing their first onset of psychosis and schizophrenia‑spectrum illness in its initial 12 months
  • Provides psychoeducation, appropriate treatments, and/or consultation with families, care providers, and community partners regarding treatment options
MRSS Responsibilities:
  • Provides in‑home crisis stabilization services, parenting education, counseling, community resource referral, and other social services interventions to the youth and family
  • Coordinates and monitors services for the youth and family in the community, including mental health, medical, educational, psychological, vocational and social services

Master’s Degree in psychology, social work, counseling, or related field is required. Professional or supervised practicum‑level experience in providing similar services to persons with similar problems or concerns is desirable but not required. Any satisfactory equivalent combination of experience, education and training which demonstrates the ability to perform the work described may be acceptable.
