Who We’re Looking For:

We’re seeking a Senior Controls Engineer with minimum 5 years of experience looking to take the next step in their career. If you have a background in industrial automation and are now eager for more responsibility and the opportunity to participate in our company’s growth, this role is ideal for you.

Job Overview:

As a Senior Controls Engineer at Pacific Control, you will play a pivotal role in delivering automation projects to our customers. Your primary responsibilities will include:

  • System Design and Development:
    Participate in the design, development, and documentation of automation systems tailored to meet our customers’ requirements.
  • Network Assessment and Improvement:
    Identify gaps in existing Operational Technology (OT) networks and systems, providing risk-based recommendations for enhancements.
  • Proposal Process:
    Participate in the sales process by providing estimates for our automation solutions.
  • Customer Interaction:
    Communicate directly with customers both in the office and on-site to present solutions and address challenges.
  • Collaboration and Teamwork: Work closely with fellow engineers to support each other and ensure the highest standards of project execution.
  • On-Site Project Delivery:
    Travel to customer sites to install, implement, and test project deliverables, ensuring that all systems meet the required specifications.
  • Project Management:
    Engage with Project Managers and company leadership to assess project status, gauge customer satisfaction, and mentor less experienced engineers.

Preferred Skills & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Robotics Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Computer Engineering or Computer Science or a related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in controls engineering or related roles in manufacturing industries.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills, with the ability to clearly convey complex control concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Familiarity with manufacturing processes, process control systems, and automation technologies.
  • Experience with Allen-Bradley PLC, HMI, VFD, Servo Motion and DCS systems.
  • Experience with Inductive Automation software for SCADA, OEE and data acquisition applications.
  • Experience with programming languages such as ladder logic, structured text, C++, python, SQL etc.
  • Proficiency in business software applications (MS Office Suite).
  • Positive and professional demeanor with a cooperative working style.
  • Flexibility to work off-hours as required.
  • Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel for on-site project implementation.
  • Willingness to undergo drug testing and background checks as required by employment or customer contracts.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Industry-related certifications from technology partners (Inductive Automation and/or Allen-Bradley, etc.).
