Job Summary:
This posting is for a pooled position. Application submissions for “[ POOL ]” positions are accepted on an ongoing basis to ensure a continuous and ready pool of qualified candidates for immediate review when the need arises. If/when a position becomes available, the College will review applications from this pool, and interview candidates whose qualifications best match the specific opening.
Applicants must reapply to the pool annually to maintain their active status in the pool.

Required Qualifications:
Applications are reviewed for minimum qualifications. In order to be considered, your application must clearly show you meet the minimum qualifications for this position.
Education and Experience:
- Minimum requirement is a BS or BT in Metallurgy or Materials Science or a related field, plus a minimum of two years’ work experience at a technical or professional level in metallurgy, materials or metals manufacturing or nondestructive testing in at least penetrant, ultrasonics and radiography.
An Associate’s degree in a related field may substitute for two years of the required education if the applicant has additional related, professional level work experience beyond the two-year requirement.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Knowledge of business and industry needs as it relates to metallurgy, materials, nondestructive testing.
- Must have a broad range of knowledge in work processes and tasks related to metallurgy and materials testing including data acquisition, photo stress analysis, and statistical process control or quality control.
- Must be organized, able to prioritize work, and follow through to completion of complex tasks.
- Must have good interpersonal communication skills, as this position requires networking and the ability to build effective business partnerships.
- Requires excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to encourage flexibility from others and provide guidance in accomplishing goals and tasks.
- Requires knowledge of college and state regulations and processes for program development and approval.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Teaching or training experience in metallurgy, materials, nondestructive testing or a related field at the community college level is preferred.
- Prefer certification or ability to be certified at a Level II or higher standing in Radiography, Penetrant, Ultrasonics, Eddy Current and Magnetic Particle Testing in accordance with SNT
-TC-1A recommendations, and have a broad range of knowledge in work processes and tasks related to metallurgy and materials testing technicians including date acquisition, photo stress analysis, statistical process control or quality control.
