In this essential frontline role, you will play a key part in supporting public safety by responding to non-emergency phone calls, assisting walk-in visitors from behind secure glass, and accurately recording important information.
This position requires the ability to manage a high volume of daily calls while providing courteous and professional assistance to the public at the front counter.

Recruitment & Selection Timeline
The screening process will consist of the following:

Salary
Incentives:
The City of Albany may offer various incentives, which could include, but are not limited to, the following:
* City-Provided Uniforms and Equipment:
Includes uniforms, necessary equipment, and uniform cleaning.
* Bilingual Pay (Spanish or Sign Language):
* 3% for Intermediate proficiency
* 5% for Advanced proficiency
* Education Pay:
* 3% for an Associate's Degree
* 6% for a Bachelor's Degree
Benefits include:
* Excellent medical, vision and dental benefit package for the employee and qualified family members with low monthly out-of-pocket cost. Currently, the employee-paid premium is approximately $56 per month for employee-only coverage up to a max of $160 per month for family coverage.
* City-paid contribution to a VEBA Trust account for out-of-pocket healthcare expenses. Currently, the annual contribution is $2,000 for employee-only and $4,000 for employee plus dependent(s).
* Paid time off:
* 8 hours of sick leave per month
* 18 hours of vacation leave per month, with progressive increases based on years of service.
* Excellent retirement benefits:
* City-paid participation in the Oregon Public Employee Retirement System (OPSRP and IAP)
* City-paid contribution (2.5%) into pre-tax deferred compensation plan
* In addition, other benefits such as education reimbursement, employee assistance program, basic life insurance, long-term disability, and flexible spending accounts for healthcare and childcare expenses.
Essential Functions/Duties & Responsibilities
This position provides administrative and clerical support to law enforcement personnel by handling a variety of routine and specialized tasks. Responsibilities include processing non-emergency service requests, maintaining sensitive or legal records, answering phones, greeting and assisting the public at the front counter, and ensuring efficient and professional customer service. Related duties may be assigned as necessary.

* Provides a variety of information to the public and governmental agencies. Responds to written inquiries for special or specific law enforcement information while complying with public record laws and confidentiality.
