Job Description: The State University of New York (SUNY) System Administration, located in Albany, New York, is searching for multiple positions of IT Lead Programmer Analysts. These positions will support multiple campuses and departments within the Office of Information and Technology at SUNY System's headquarters. We are looking for bright, ambitious Developers who will be responsible for enhancing, developing and maintaining our SUNY Student and Business systems with an immediate focus on human resources and finance.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design, code, test, debug, and document programs, subroutines, and scripts.
  • Develop or modify application systems and procedures to optimize performance.
  • Formulate and define system scope and objectives through research and analysis.
  • Maintain technical expertise in programming languages, databases, and platforms.
  • Respond to system failures and performance issues to minimize downtime and prevent recurrence.
  • Provide guidance to less-experienced programmers and conduct training sessions for end users.
Job Requirements

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience required.
  • Java and Java Frameworks
  • HTML, especially HTML5
  • Java Script
  • SQLPL/SQL
  • XML and XSLT
  • Groovy
  • C/Python/PHP
  • JQuery
  • Education or knowledge of Relational Database design principles (Oracle, MySQL, or Postgre

    SQL)
  • Ability to assume responsibility for less complex systems and analysis of projects involving development of subsystems
  • Ability to formulate programming code in more than one programming logic
  • Ability to multi-task
  • Ability to document systems
  • Good interpersonal and written communication skills
  • Ability to think creatively and solve problems
  • Ability to receive, prioritize, and complete tasks from multiple sources with minimal supervision

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Oracle application server and development tools
  • Object oriented analysis and design
  • Cold Fusion programming language
  • Education or knowledge utilizing Tortoise SVN, Git Hub or similar source control repositories
  • Education or knowledge in Business Intelligence or similar solution
  • Education or knowledge in timeline and project management and/or implementation of business and functional requirements
  • Professional or internship experiences a plus
Additional Information
  • Must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis. VISA sponsorship is NOT available for this position.
  • Salary is dependent on a variety of factors, including but not limited to experience, education, training, and certifications. The range for this position is $60,000-$70,000 annually.
