Opportunity to lead a passionate team of professionals who focus on providing person centred counselling and therapy to children, young people and adults who have been affected by domestic violence or sexual abuse. This pivotal leadership role involves supporting our counsellors within the Trauma Counselling Team to deliver therapeutic recovery services that adhere to best practice standards. You will play a crucial part in ensuring that our services are person centred, evidence based, trauma informed and culturally safe.

Holding a small case load of your own, you will support the team and act as an escalation point for any complex clients or client issues, facilitate serious issues meetings and respond to client complaints. You will be responsible for coordinating and facilitating case reviews and will develop and implement risk management strategies. In consultation with line management, you will also oversee the implementation of quality systems and reporting processes.

This is a part time (0.8 FTE - 30 hours) permanent opportunity based in Albany.

Desired Skills and Experience

About you

You will bring your patient and empathetic nature alongside experience in leading person centred, trauma informed services that are culturally appropriate.

You will have:

  • Tertiary qualification in Social Work, Psychology or related discipline with minimum 5 years post qualification experience
  • Demonstrated experience in leadership and program management in the child and family service sector.
  • Knowledge and application of current theory and practice in relation to Counselling, Family Law matters with individuals, families and children
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience in working with the effects of trauma
  • Demonstrate knowledge of relevant legislation relating to family law, child protection, VRO’s and family and domestic violence
  • Eligibility for membership of appropriate professional association

The successful candidate must possess a current National Police Clearance valid within one year, a WA Working with Children Check and a WA Driver's Licence.

A police record is not an automatic barrier to employment with us. We welcome applications from people with diverse backgrounds and experiences, and we review any disclosures on an individual basis, focusing on relevance to the role.

In addition to your remuneration, you will enjoy generous tax-free salary packaging benefits where you can package up to $15,900 per annum and not pay tax on that amount.

Additional 3 days (pro-rata) leave per year and ability to purchase additional leave.
