Installation Technician, Field/Service Technician

This role offers a base pay range of $75,000.00/yr – $93,000.00/yr, based on your skills and experience.
Responsibilities- Supervise and manage the direct reports assigned
- Always maintain a professional attitude and appearance.
- Ability to work independently, with very little supervision.
- Demonstrates the ability to supervise and mentor others.
- Must possess programming skills associated with the UT product line.
- Must be willing to travel as needed, sometimes on short notice.
- Must be able to identify and resolve issues that would have a negative impact on job productivity.
- Be the projects "eyes and ears" for the management team.
- Maintain a safe, clean working environment always.
- Communicate all activity to the job Project Manager or Program Manager in a timely manner.
- Must be willing to assist the Install team.
- Ensure all UT and site‑specific safety programs are followed.
- Attend any product or safety training that is required.
- Complete performance reviews of the team members.
- Assist Program and Project Managers with weekly and monthly team supervisory duties. IE:
Approval of timesheets, expenses, credit card reconciliation and PTO requests. - Identify and assess' strengths, abilities, and weakness of the team.
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Mastery of all Level III Install Technician responsibilities.
- Minimum 5 years of field installation experience in the security environment.
- Certifications in Software House, AMAG, Genetec, and Lenel are high priority.
- Demonstrate competencies in IP cameras and systems, such as Axis, Sony, Avigilon, and Exacq.
- Experienced in the installation of door hardware such as strikes and magnetic locks.
- Experienced in reading and comprehending engineered drawings.
- Experienced in the marking up, or "red lining" of drawings post install.
- Proficient in the use of a computer, with MS Word, MS Project, and MS Excel skill sets.
- Excellent communication skills (verbal and written) and the ability to work well and interact with other UT employees as well as UT customers.
- Strong work ethic and teamwork; "can do" attitude and desire to provide best service. Strong interpersonal and communicative Skills.
- Ability to work under pressure with minimal supervision; must be a self‑starter and quick learner.
- Strong problem‑solving skills
- Ability to travel 40% within upper NY area.
