Overview

Residential Sales Consultant – Home Improvement Services (Company Car + Uncapped Commission)

Location: near Albany, NY (northwest)

Salary: $45,000 Base + Uncapped Commission (1st yr OTE $77,500+) + Company Car

Typical

Hours:

Monday-Friday, 40 hours/week; some Saturdays as needed

Local Travel: 75% within the Capital Region in company vehicle (no overnights)

About the Role

Our client, in the home improvement services industry near Albany, NY is looking for a Residential Sales Consultant to become a trusted point of contact for local homeowners. This role is a mix of office and field-based work, supporting local homeowners from initial consultation through project completion. You’ll respond to customer inquiries, schedule in-home consultations, prepare estimates, and guide projects through completion – supported by a steady flow of inbound leads.

With most customers making decisions within two weeks, your ability to follow up and communicate clearly will drive success. This role is perfect for someone who enjoys helping people, values relationships, and wants to build a long-term career within a team-oriented, community-based company.

Responsibilities
  • Schedule and conduct in-home consultations with residential customers
  • Travel locally to evaluate project needs and prepare estimates
  • Educate homeowners on product options and services tailored to their needs
  • Manage follow-up communication to move projects from estimate to agreement
  • Meet or exceed individual performance and revenue goals
  • Identify opportunities to recommend additional services when appropriate
  • Maintain a high level of customer satisfaction throughout the life of each project
  • Participate in regular meetings with management and service team
  • Manage your schedule to ensure timely appointments and responsiveness to customer requests
  • Stay current on products, services, and industry offerings
Qualifications
  • Experience in a customer-facing role required
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and various technology/software tools required
  • Ability to travel regularly within the Capital Region (using company vehicle/gas) required
