The Business Development Manager:
Gasket Sales is a strategic, growth-driven sales professional responsible for expanding gasket product revenue across multiple territories. This role serves as the internal subject-matter expert for gasket solutions, leading new business development efforts, supporting field sales teams, and strengthening relationships with key customers and vendor partners.
This position blends direct selling, sales coaching, and product leadership, ideal for a professional who enjoys building programs, driving revenue, and influencing teams.
Key Responsibilities- Drive new gasket business through proactive prospecting, outreach, and consultative selling.
- Build and manage a strong pipeline of gasket-focused opportunities.
- Conduct customer meetings, product demonstrations, and needs assessments.
- Identify cross-sell and upsell opportunities within existing accounts.
- Develop customized proposals, pricing strategies, and product recommendations.
- Maintain deep knowledge of gasket materials, applications, and market offerings.
- Serve as the internal gasket specialist and sales coach for field sales representatives.
- Participate in joint sales calls and customer meetings to help advance or close opportunities.
- Train sales reps on gasket products, applications, competitive positioning, and selling strategies.
- Provide quoting support, technical guidance, and sourcing assistance.
- Help build gasket-specific pipelines across territories through follow-up and accountability.
- Assist in onboarding and training new sales team members.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with gasket manufacturers and supplier partners.
- Coordinate training, pricing updates, product launches, and market intelligence with vendors.
- Collaborate with purchasing and operations to ensure inventory levels, lead times, and packaging align with customer needs.
- Stay current on emerging gasket technologies and competitive developments.
- Partner with leadership to shape and execute gasket growth strategies.
- Track and report sales performance, pipeline growth, customer trends, and rep adoption.
- Identify new markets and underserved customer segments.
- Provide insight and recommendations on pricing programs, promotions, and growth initiatives.
- 3–5+ years of experience in industrial gasket sales or a related industrial B2B field.
- Strong technical understanding of gasket materials and applications.
- Proven success in business development and B2B sales.
- Ability to coach and support field sales professionals.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and relationship-building skills.
- Highly organized, self-motivated, and able to manage multiple initiatives.
- Willingness to travel as needed.
- Play a key role in expanding a high-growth product category.
- Partner directly with leadership on strategic growth initiatives.
- Collaborate with an established multi-territory sales team.
