Shift: Availability needed for 5:30 am Market Shift, midday shift, and the sunset Closing Shift, plus weekends

Salary: $17.00/Hour

Supervisor: Plants Department Manager

• Receiving:
  Assist with market runs and deliveries; help with loading/unloading as needed; check in and sign for deliveries. Note any discrepancies, product damages or adjustments on the invoice.
• Stocking:
  Cull, rotate, and replenish displays following established stocking priorities; remove damaged product promptly after notifying the Plants Department management; keep the outside Plants Department retail and storage areas in a clean, orderly condition; clean racks/bouquet displays inside the store when needed; monitor potential floor hazards; water plants as needed; clean/sanitize surfaces, utensils, buckets, and sinks; consolidate empty pots/plant trays; label items accurately with price stickers;
  
  assist with stock count for inventory and order placement; check signage for correct PLU, price, and origin; report shrink and pricing anomalies; manage displays to maintain appearance and clear separation between organic and conventional plants; maintain shopper-friendly categories (herbs, vegetables, fruits, flowers, etc.).
• Customer Service:
  Assist customers with questions in a prompt, friendly manner; if unable to answer, have another staff member assist or note contact information for follow-up; offer information on planting, growing and care of plants and flowers; record and process special orders; answer Plants Department phone and customer questions.
• Opening:
  Unlock outdoor Plants Department area gates; ensure plants are watered; pull carts/plants for displays; set up front/side areas according to plan; prepare work station with necessary forms and supplies.
• Closing:
  Leave outside areas clean and orderly; sanitize surfaces and equipment; remove trash; take cardboard to baler; cover cut flowers and store in cooler as per procedures; monitor overnight temperature and weather; adjust plant racks as needed; lock gates.
• Special Tasks:
  Assist with setup/breakdown of Plants Department; operate Produce/Plants Truck for market runs; oversee watering of outside plants with management guidance.

• Willingness to get dirty, wet, and endure hot/cold conditions
• Flexibility in scheduling, including shift exchanges and covering additional shifts as needed
• Must possess a valid driver’s license
