🔎 True Unit Acuity (Very Important)
This is NOT a standard PCU .

This is a high-acuity stepdown/ICU hybrid managing:

• Respiratory failure

• Sepsis

• Multi-system organ dysfunction

• Closed head injuries

• Complex trauma

• Surgical complications

• Endocrine instability

• Advanced hemodynamics

Required Competencies:

• Pressor titration (per protocol)

• Antihypertensive drips

• Sedative & Narcan drips

• Thrombolytics

• A-line

• CVP monitoring

• EVD management

• Ortho traction

• HFNC / BiPAP / CPAP

• Infection prevention protocols

Average assignment: 3 high-acuity patients

This is effectively a community ICU stepdown with ICU-level expectations.
