Clinical Nurse II: Critical Care Float Pool , Nights

Join the team at Albany Medical Center as a Clinical Nurse I in the Critical Care Float Pool. This role offers an opportunity to work in various critical care units including Neuro-Surgical Trauma ICU, Medical ICU, Coronary Care Unit, Cardiovascular ICU, and the MSICU.

Additional opportunities include gaining competencies in Emergency Department care and neuro-progressive care areas. This role is based at the only Level I trauma center in the region.

Responsibilities include:

• Implementing physician orders, administering medications, starting IVs, performing treatments, procedures, and special tests, and documenting treatments according to policies and regulations.
• Ordering, interpreting, and evaluating diagnostic tests to assess patient conditions.
• Assessing patient needs and responses to care.
• Applying nursing judgment in patient care management.
• Providing primary and emergency care for injuries and illnesses.
• Collaborating with the nursing team to create a patient care plan.
• Guiding ancillary personnel and maintaining professional standards.

Qualifications:

• Graduate of a professional nursing program (Diploma, Associate, or Baccalaureate Degree).
• Current NYS Registered Nurse license.
• Certification in BLS and ACLS.
• 1-3 years of clinical RN experience in Med-Surg or Progressive Care.
• Excellent communication, organizational, and time-management skills.
• Knowledge of quality improvement principles and problem-solving tools.
