Hourly Salary Range: $34.65 - $35.69

Colorectal Surgery & Urology:

The Colorectal Surgery and Urology Unit has 22 semi-private rooms and cares for patients post-colorectal and urologic surgery.

Procedures performed on unit include:

• Assist with chest tube insertion, central lines, wound vac changes, NG, Cortrak, catheter, indwelling catheters.

The Registered Nurse assesses, plans, directs, and manages patient care, focusing on progress toward discharge and transitions within the hospital stay. The nurse provides compassionate, competent care to patients, referring facilities, and hospital staff in inpatient, outpatient, and community settings.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

• Implement physician orders, administer medications, start IVs, perform treatments, procedures, and tests, and document as required.
• Order, interpret, and evaluate diagnostic tests.
• Assess and evaluate patient needs and responses to care.
• Use sound nursing judgment for patient care decisions.
• Administer medications as ordered.
• Collaborate with the team to create a Plan of Care.
• Guide ancillary personnel and uphold professional standards.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Graduate from an accredited nursing program (Diploma, Associate, or Baccalaureate Degree).
• Current NYS Registered Nurse license.
• Maintain certification in BLS/ACLS/PALS/TNCC.
• Commit to ongoing education for performance improvement.
