Nurse Practitioner

Overview

Koniag Professional Services (KPS), a Koniag Government Services company, is seeking a Nurse Practitioner to support KPS and our government customer in support of the Albany Military Entrance Processing Station. This position is for a future business opportunity.

Work Hours:

Services are to be provided between the hours of 06:00 to 17:00 pm (remain flexible) Monday through Friday unless specified otherwise. Primary location of performance is: 11 A Clinton Avenue Albany NY, 12207

• Perform review of military service applicant medical histories, perform medical evaluations, and conduct reviews of medical test results and documents to determine whether an applicant meets the medical standards established by Congress and the Military Services at USMEPCOM facilities.
• Review required medical tests and documents pertaining to consultations and medical histories.
• Secure a thorough health history from the applicant and record findings.
• Arrange (but not perform) medical consultations, including orthopedics, psychiatry, ENT, dermatology, internal medicine, and dental.
• Accomplish the specified quantity and quality of work within the schedule and hours allotted.
• Perform records review/consult reviews and results reviews.
• Abide by DoD, USMEPCOM, and other applicable instructions, regulations, and policies.
• Apply accession medical standards to determine applicant medical qualifications and become proficient in their application.
• Provide the highest regard to applicant dignity.
• Possess computer skills to access and update electronic medical documentation, access email, and use internet sites as required.
• Ability to read, write, and speak English to effectively communicate with all parties and other providers.
• Ability to plan and utilize time effectively while exercising sound judgment and decision-making.
• Possess initiative, interpersonal relationship skills, and social sensitivity.
• Complete MHS Genesis training requirements for medical documentation.
• Experience in collecting, organizing, recording, and communicating health histories and administering mental health screening questionnaires.
• Knowledgeable of diagnostic procedures across medical and healthcare fields including obstetrics/gynecology, otolaryngology, pediatrics, orthopedics, internal medicine, and mental health.
• Strong ability to write routine reports and correspondence; excellent communication, customer service, and organizational skills.

• Graduate of a Baccalaureate Degree from an accredited school of nursing (National League for Nursing).
• Master’s or Doctoral Degree from a program accredited by the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners Certificate Program (ANPCP) or the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC).
• Current unrestricted Nurse Practitioner license in one of the fifty states, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, Guam, or the U.S. Virgin Islands.
• Minimum of two (2) years post-graduate experience in direct patient care within the last three (3) years.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross; certification must include a hands-on portion and be recertified every two years.

• Ability to pass a Tier 4 investigation and a Public Trust
