Base Pay Range$25.00/hr - $35.00/hr.
Position SummaryProduces machined parts by setting up and operating a computer numerical control (CNC) machine; maintaining quality and safety standards; keeping records; maintaining equipment and supplies in a fast‑paced machine shop environment. Successful candidate must be hardworking, detail‑oriented, and possess a strong work ethic.
Essential Duties, Responsibilities & Accountabilities- Plans machining by studying work orders, blueprints, engineering plans, materials, specifications, drawings, reference planes, locations of surfaces, and machining parameters; interpreting geometric dimensions and tolerances (GD&T).
- Configure mills and lathes by entering instructions, including zero and reference points; setting tool registers, offsets, compensation, and conditional switches; calculating requirements, including basic math, geometry, and trigonometry; proving part programs.
- Loads machine with work pieces.
- Verifies settings by measuring positions, first‑run part, and sample work pieces.
- Maintains specifications by observing operations, taking measurements, detecting malfunctions, troubleshooting processes, collaborating with CNC Programming Team, sharpening and replacing worn tools, and adhering to quality assurance procedures.
- Accomplishes organization goals by accepting ownership for new and different requests and exploring opportunities to add value.
- Meets production goals in terms of cycle time, quantity, and quality.
- Responsible for maintaining serial number and lot traceability.
- Other duties as assigned, which may include forging work, cutoff work, EDM Operation, and manual lathe work when needed.
- Using your best efforts and full capability daily to the work assigned by your manager.
- Advising your manager if you do not understand the work assigned or if it does not fit with your knowledge, skills, or available resources.
- Advising your manager of any obstacles that could prevent completion of assigned work.
- Advising your manager of any opportunities that could improve work performance.
- Demonstrating work behaviors consistent with company values and operating within prescribed boundaries, including ISO and AS9100 quality management procedures.
- Maintains safe operations by keeping work area clean and organized and by adhering to safety procedures and regulations.
- Maintains equipment by completing basic preventive maintenance, following manufacturer instructions, and initiating maintenance requests.
- Maintains continuity among work shifts by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needs.
- Documents actions by completing required paperwork.
- Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities and reading technical publications.
- Participates in required meetings and training.
- Cross‑trains into other departments as needed.
- Adaptable to a changing work environment, competing demands, and frequent changes, delays, and unexpected events.

Education and/or Experience- Required:
High School Diploma or GED, two (2) years of vocational/tech school certification, apprenticeship program, or work experience. - Preferred:
Experience in setting up & operating CNC resources and in process inspection.
- Ability to apply concepts such as basic fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
- Must be able to use a computer to access and retrieve information within the ERP system (Epicor).
- Ability to read and interpret common scientific and technical journals and blueprints.
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
Above‑average mechanical reasoning ability.
Physical DemandsRequired to lift/carry objects weighing less than 15 pounds routinely; lift 15‑44 pounds rarely; lift 45 pounds and over rarely. Must stand often, walk routinely, kneel or sit rarely, climb rarely, reach above shoulders routinely, use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects routinely.
