Overview

- Assists the Executive Deputy Superintendent in oversight for the Operations Division, including Diversity, Equity and Inclusion, Risk, Compliance, and Internal Audit, Project Management, Training, Human Resources, Financial Management, Office Services and Facilities Management and Emergency Management;
- Creates and manages reports and trackers for key operational goals and key performance indicator (KPIs) across the agency;
- Reviews, analyzes, and evaluates operational processes across divisions;
- Performs research and prepares memos on policies related to the Operations Division;
- Advances and institutionalizes progressive workplace initiatives from a permanent telecommuting program to an agency-wide performance management program;
- Supports all aspects of recruitment of key open leadership positions at DFS;
- Assists in the implementation of the intern, Empire State and Excelsior Fellow programs at DFS;
- Develops and executes employee recognition events such as public service week, holiday parties, and summer picnics;
- Provides expert advice to DFS leadership on confidential, sensitive, and complex issues;
- Represents DFS and liaises with other state agency leadership, particularly on the operations side:
Department of Civil Service, Division of Budget, and the Governor’s Office; and - Represents DFS while liaising with other state and federal agencies as well as intergovernmental partners
Minimum Qualifications
- At least 5 years of leadership experience in government administration and operations;
- Experience in human resources and labor relations, information technology, budgeting and fiscal management, procurement, learning and development, emergency management, and office services and facilities management; and
- At least 3 years of managerial supervision.

This is an appointment to a position in the exempt jurisdictional class. As such, the incumbent of this position would serve at the pleasure of the appointing authority.

Salary: $127,507 - $160,911 (salary commensurate with experience)
