Disaster Preparedness Program Representative 1 (NY HELPS)

Base pay range: $53,764.00/yr – $68,630.00/yr
Duties- Assist in maintaining credentialing and training requirements for team members.
- Plan and coordinate the movement of the team to assigned missions and training.
- Deploy as a member of the State Incident Management team (IMT).
- Utilize DHSES Learning Management System (LMS) to coordinate and track IMT specific training courses.
- Provide team members with information on training and deployment opportunities.
- Prepare course materials for scheduled classes.
- Manage training supply needs.
- Manage the team NET card in support of team operations.
- Assist in developing cost estimates for planned training.
- Track team availability through bi-weekly surveys.
- Review and process applications for IMT membership.
- Facilitate team conference calls as needed.
- Review and update the IMT Standard Operating Procedures.
- Inspect and maintain IMT equipment.
- Travel may be required, approximately 20%, including during evenings and weekends, depending on assignment.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Four years of emergency management experience coordinating and implementing emergency management and disaster preparedness programs.
- Experience preparing, modifying, and presenting disaster educational training and/or exercises.
- Gathering and analyzing information to produce briefings or reports for timely incident response decisions.
- Representing an agency or organization in an Emergency Operations Center or leadership position on the Incident Command System.
- Managing or supervising logistics operations during a major emergency or disaster by overseeing distribution or staging of equipment and supplies.
- Associate degree in a related field can substitute for two years of specialized experience; bachelor’s degree can substitute for four years of experience.
