Job DescriptionRole Overview
The ETL Developer / Data Warehouse Architect will support the design, implementation, and expansion of a secure enterprise data analytics environment. This consultant will play a hands‑on role in:
- Reviewing and modernizing ETL processes
- Designing scalable data warehouse architecture
- Supporting structured and unstructured data ingestion
- Enabling business intelligence and Tableau reporting
- Supporting inter‑agency data exchanges
This role combines technical development and data architecture responsibilities, requiring strong expertise in SQL, ETL design, and data modeling within a large‑scale analytics environment.
Core Responsibilities Data Architecture & Warehouse Development- Review and analyze existing ETL processes and data ingestion pipelines.
- Architect a scalable data warehouse framework aligned with analytics and reporting needs.
- Design systems capable of accepting both structured and unstructured datasets.
- Implement and migrate ETL environments including fact and dimensional data models.
- Support dimensional modeling aligned with business requirements and user stories.
- Develop enterprise data models supporting analytics, compliance, and fraud detection workflows.
- Optimize warehouse structures for analytics, auditing, and reporting use cases.
- Develop and maintain ETL processes integrating multiple data sources including:
- Flat files
- Direct database connections
- XML transactions
- External data feeds
- Implement ETL pipelines using tools such as Qlik, Informatica, or similar platforms.
- Perform SQL and PL/SQL development for data transformations and data processing.
- Support ingestion of newly identified datasets.
- Maintain data interchange systems connecting internal and external systems.
- Ensure secure data transfers and validation processes across integrated systems.
- Support Tableau and Oracle Business Intelligence Enterprise Edition (OBIEE) dashboard development.
- Design ETL pipelines optimized for Tableau visualization environments.
- Assist with Tableau Server administration (preferred).
- Collaborate with business stakeholders to translate user stories into analytics‑ready datasets.
- Ensure BI layer performance, data integrity, and accuracy.
- Partner with analytics teams to validate datasets and ensure data accuracy.
- Troubleshoot data discrepancies and transformation issues.
- Support data quality initiatives and validation processes.
- Apply statistical techniques to support fraud detection and performance analytics.
- Assist in developing analytics‑ready datasets for reporting and analysis.
- Assist in building and maintaining secure data analytics infrastructure.
- Support migration and modernization of ETL environments.
- Align ETL pipelines with security, compliance, and governance standards.
- Ensure data architecture aligns with enterprise data governance and compliance protocols.
- Bachelor s degree in Computer Science or a related IT field, OR a Master s/Doctorate in Computer Science or related discipline.
- 4+ years of experience developing and maintaining data interchange systems integrating:
- Flat files
- Direct database connections
- XML transactions
- 4+ years of experience working with ETL tools such as Qlik, Informatica, or equivalent.
- 4+ years of experience in data modeling, including dimensional modeling, fact tables, and star schemas.
- 4+ years of experience building ETL environments supporting data analytics platforms.
- 4+ years of experience coding in SQL.
- Experience with Python scripting.
- Experience with Tableau Server administration.
- Experience gathering business requirements and validating datasets with stakeholders.
- Formal coursework or professional experience in statistics or data analytics.
- PL/SQL development experience.
- Experience building ETL environments optimized for Tableau reporting.
- Experience working with large‑scale analytics environments.
- Experience supporting audit, compliance, or fraud analytics initiatives.
- Experience working in secure data environments with governance and compliance requirements.
