We are currently seeking a System Support Engineer to join our client’s IT department team in Albany, NY. The System Support Engineer is responsible for providing technical support to a NYS agency’s end users who work both remotely and on-site. In addition, the System Support Engineer applies basic diagnostic techniques to identify problems, investigate causes, and recommend solutions.
This position is 100% onsite in Albany, NY.
EssentialJob Duties and Responsibilities
- Provide technical support to end users working both remotely and on-site, ensuring timely resolution of hardware, software, and connectivity issues.
- Apply diagnostic and troubleshooting techniques to identify technical problems, investigate root causes, and implement or recommend effective solutions.
- Install, configure, and maintain desktop systems, laptops, peripherals, and standard business applications.
- Support and maintain Audio-Visual (AV) systems used for meetings, conferences, and presentations, including troubleshooting AV equipment such as displays, microphones, conferencing tools, and control systems.
- Assist with the setup, operation, and support of AV equipment for internal meetings, hybrid events, and conference rooms.
- Document technical issues, resolutions, and procedures to support knowledge sharing and continuous improvement.
- Provide excellent customer service while supporting users with varying levels of technical knowledge.
- A bachelor’s degree in computer science or equivalent experience is required.
- A minimum of 2 years of experience in installation, configuring and managing Virtualized Environments, Networking, PC hardware, Desktop imaging, Microsoft Active Directory, Terminal/RDS, Cloud O365/M365 and VoIP.
- Additional duties also include Audio/Video support.
- A demonstrated understanding of the Microsoft suite Office applications, and proficiency in Active Directory, Okta, and MFA are also required.
