Duties Description
The Applications Solutions Architect will work on the Executive Chamber’s Computer Services team. This role will focus on the development of Chamber‑wide infrastructure plans and projects to achieve stakeholder goals, improve systems, and manage solutions. A successful candidate will act as a bridge between business needs and technology by creating high-level technical blueprints, selecting technologies, and guiding implementation to meet organizational goals.
They will work across teams, ensuring systems are integrated, scalable, and aligned with the strategic vision.
- Provides senior technical leadership throughout a project’s lifecycle within their area of specialty.
- Plans, tracks, and schedules software deliverables.
- Makes decisions regarding the selection and utilization of software and platforms.
- Develops and implements integration standards and strategies.
- Locates and directs solutions to challenges involving hardware and software interfaces.
- Identifies and resolves issues within software.
- Optimizes applications to ensure they meet the needs of the program area and the needs of the Executive Chamber.
- Documents and records all aspects of applications or software.
- Collaborates with IT security to secure data and address issues.
- Collaborates with cross‑functional teams to analyze requirements and architect solutions and ensure successful delivery at the end of the project lifecycle.
- Designs end‑to‑end technical solutions that address business requirements and align with architecture principles and standards.
- Identifies technical risks and develops mitigation strategies.
- Collaborates with development teams to ensure that technical solutions are implemented according to design specifications.
- Identifies opportunities to improve efficiency and solution quality.
- Ensures that solutions adhere to security, compliance, and regulatory requirements.
- Works closely with user experience, business analysts, and business stakeholders to ensure alignment.
- Engages with stakeholders to communicate technical solutions, gather feedback, and address concerns.
- Evaluates new and emerging technologies.
- A Bachelor’s degree.
- At least four years of experience leading and developing IT architecture programs.
A Master’s degree or higher in computer science or a related field substitutes for one year of general information technology experience.
Additional relevant experience may, on a year‑for‑year basis, substitute for the Bachelor’s degree requirement.
Additional CommentsAll positions within the NYS Executive Chamber require completion of a background check prior to appointment. Evenings and weekends will be required on an as‑needed basis.
