Server Support Administrator

CTG is seeking to fill a Data Center Support Generalist position for our client.

• Provide server support for Windows and Linux environments, ensuring high availability and performance
• Install, configure, maintain, and troubleshoot Windows and Linux servers
• Support end-user computing devices, including laptops running Windows and Linux operating systems
• Perform system patching, upgrades, and routine maintenance activities
• Monitor server health, system logs, and performance metrics; proactively address issues
• Assist with user account management, permissions, and access controls
• Support backup, recovery, and disaster recovery procedures
• Work within a data center environment, including rack/stack, hardware diagnostics, and equipment replacement
• Document system configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting steps
• Collaborate with infrastructure, network, and security teams to resolve technical issues

• Strong knowledge of Windows Server administration
• Experience with Linux server administration (e.g., Red Hat, Ubuntu, or similar distributions)
• Familiarity with Active Directory, Group Policy, and system security best practices
• Experience supporting laptops and endpoint devices in enterprise environments
• Understanding of virtualization technologies and data center operations
• Proficiency in troubleshooting hardware, OS, and network-related issues
• Knowledge of backup solutions and system monitoring tools
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities

• 3+ years of experience in server administration and technical support roles
• Hands-on experience in Windows and Linux server environments
• Prior data center experience, including physical hardware support
• Experience supporting enterprise-level infrastructure environments preferred

• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field preferred
• Relevant technical certifications (e.g., Microsoft, Linux, CompTIA) are a plus
