This position will be in support of the NYS Tax Modernization Program. This program will encompass multiple projects to modernize legacy systems within the NYS Department of Taxation and Finance, which is responsible for billions in state revenue. Some of the major areas under modernization include:

• Collections and Accounts Receivable
• Integrated Account System
• Miscellaneous Taxes

• 84 months experience with a government organization, which includes business knowledge, technical design, development, maintenance and end user support of complex systems.
• 84 months of COBOL/ASSEMBLER/CICS programming experience in an IBM Mainframe Environment utilizing TSO.
• 84 months of MVS JCL experience.
• 84 months of IBM DB2/SQL experience for z/OS working with databases.
• 60 months of experience in system analysis and design for multi tiered transactional systems and writing technical design specification documents for multifaceted component-based systems.
• 60 months of experience with IBM MQ Series.
• 60 months of experience with CA-Intertest.

• The selected candidate will be responsible for all phases of the System Development Life Cycle for a multi-tiered complex processing system. Specific tasks will include:
• Guiding the technical design for data conversion to newly modernized systems.
• Coordinating the technical solutions among various technical support groups.
• Presentations of technical solutions to management and technical support areas.
• Implementing technical solutions.
• Guiding requirements gathering sessions.
• Guiding the analysis of requirements and system design work.
• Development of technical design documents and program specifications.
• Coding, unit and integration testing of programming assignments.
• Coordinate the migration of all code changes (programs, procedures, etc.) from development environment into user test environment.
• Writing and tuning SQL.
• Technical Support of user testing efforts. Performance tuning of new and existing applications.
• Production support tasks including analysis of issue, propose and implement solutions.
• Mentoring of less experienced staff would be required.
