Position: Registration Associate – Albany Memorial Hospital - FT - Nights
Location: City of Albany

Representative I – Albany Memorial Hospital – FT – Nights

Full‑time night shift position. Requires holiday and/or weekend rotation and a two‑week training period (Mon‑Fri, 8 am–4:30 pm).

Pay range: $17.25–$22.54 per hour, varying within this range based on location and experience.

Responsibilities
  • Provides patient‑focused customer service.
  • Performs outpatient and/or inpatient registration and insurance verification functions.
  • Collects patient financial liability payments and ensures patients meet financial requirements, including Medicare medical necessity, payer pre‑certifications, and referrals.
  • Provides general information to hospital users, patients, families, and physician offices.
  • Investigates and resolves customer service issues, researches, collects, and analyzes information, and identifies opportunities to improve program efficiency and patient experience.
  • Collaborates on performance improvement activities and distributes analytical reports.
  • Utilizes multiple system applications to perform analysis, create reports, and develop educational materials.
  • Analyzes data, synthesizes and presents findings with graphical presentations, and recommends practical solutions that support business strategy and leadership decision‑making.
  • Maintains working knowledge of applicable federal, state, and local laws, Trinity Health Integrity & Compliance Program, Code of Conduct, and other relevant policies, procedures, and guidelines.
Minimum Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum one (1) year of customer service experience.
  • Patient access experience preferred.
  • HFMA CRCR or NAHAM CHAA certification required within one (1) year of hire.
Additional Qualifications (Nice to Have)
  • Medical terminology and knowledge of diagnostic and procedural coding.
  • Insurance verification experience with the ability to explain benefits and secure necessary authorizations.
