Location: City of Albany
Representative I – Albany Memorial Hospital – FT – Nights
Full‑time night shift position. Requires holiday and/or weekend rotation and a two‑week training period (Mon‑Fri, 8 am–4:30 pm).
Pay range: $17.25–$22.54 per hour, varying within this range based on location and experience.
Responsibilities- Provides patient‑focused customer service.
- Performs outpatient and/or inpatient registration and insurance verification functions.
- Collects patient financial liability payments and ensures patients meet financial requirements, including Medicare medical necessity, payer pre‑certifications, and referrals.
- Provides general information to hospital users, patients, families, and physician offices.
- Investigates and resolves customer service issues, researches, collects, and analyzes information, and identifies opportunities to improve program efficiency and patient experience.
- Collaborates on performance improvement activities and distributes analytical reports.
- Utilizes multiple system applications to perform analysis, create reports, and develop educational materials.
- Analyzes data, synthesizes and presents findings with graphical presentations, and recommends practical solutions that support business strategy and leadership decision‑making.
- Maintains working knowledge of applicable federal, state, and local laws, Trinity Health Integrity & Compliance Program, Code of Conduct, and other relevant policies, procedures, and guidelines.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum one (1) year of customer service experience.
- Patient access experience preferred.
- HFMA CRCR or NAHAM CHAA certification required within one (1) year of hire.
- Medical terminology and knowledge of diagnostic and procedural coding.
- Insurance verification experience with the ability to explain benefits and secure necessary authorizations.
