Location: City of Albany
Position Overview
Addictions Specialist 1, 2, or 3 – Adult Treatment Team, adult substance use and co‑occurring mental health services for adults and families in Linn County. This full‑time (37.5 hrs/week) role is open until filled.
ResponsibilitiesProvide outpatient substance use disorder treatment, individual, group and family therapy, case management and community education. Offer outreach to clients charged with minor drug offenses, including ASAM assessments, warm handoffs, motivational interviewing and coordination with Parole, Probation and DHS Child Welfare. Work at program clinics and community agencies, with some evening work and outlying travel.

- Must pass a criminal history check and hold or obtain a valid Oregon driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.
- Bachelor’s degree in psychology, social work, counseling or related field and at least one year of supervised practicum experience in addiction treatment.
- Oregon certification as a Certified Alcohol & Drug Counselor – Level One (or certification within two years of starting employment).
- Master’s degree in psychology, social work, counseling or related field and three years of professional or supervised practicum experience in addiction treatment.
- Oregon certification as a Certified Alcohol & Drug Counselor – Level One for clinicians with a Master’s degree or Level Two for clinicians with a Bachelor’s degree.
- Master’s degree in psychology, social work, counseling or related field. Two years post‑Master’s supervised experience and four years pre‑ or post‑Master’s supervised experience in addiction treatment.
- Oregon licensure as a Licensed Professional Counselor, Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist, Licensed Clinical Social Worker, or certification as a Certified Alcohol & Drug Counselor – Level Two.
This is a non‑supervisory position. Linn County does not offer visa sponsorship. Applicants must complete the I‑9 form confirming authorization to work in the United States.
