Linn County Mental health is recruiting for a therapist to work with children and families providing mental health services. The person filling this position will be skilled in assessment, individual, family and group therapy, case management and consultation. The successful candidate may work in a rural or urban community, collaborating with formal and informal community resources, providing clinic, community, and school based mental health services and may provide parent-child interactive therapy (PCIT).
Previous training in Solution Focused Brief Therapy, Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and cognitive behavioral therapy is preferred. Must be willing to work as part of an interdisciplinary team and follow documentation requirements in accordance with the Oregon Administrative Rules and department policies and procedures. Primary work location for this position is Linn County based and locations are subject to change depending on program needs.
Health Specialist 1:
Master's Degree in psychology, social work, counseling, or related field is required. Professional or supervised practicum-level experience in providing similar services to persons with similar problems or concerns is desirable but not required. Any satisfactory equivalent combination of experience, education and training which demonstrates the ability to perform the work described may be acceptable. Must be registered with Mental Health and Addiction Certification Board of Oregon (MHACBO) prior to start date.
MentalHealth Specialist 2:
Master's Degree in psychology, social work, counseling or related field is required. Two years post Master's Degree supervised experience in a similar position. Classification as a Mental Health Specialist 2, in addition to the requirements listed in the Mental Health Specialist 1 above requires Oregon licensure as a Licensed Professional Counselor or Licensed Clinical Social Worker.
Must be able to pass a criminal history check and possess or obtain a valid Oregon driver's license with an acceptable driving record that meets the County's requirements.
This is a non-supervisory position. Lead work and coordination of work of others is not a typical function assigned to this position. Incumbents in this position may provide training and orientation to newly assigned personnel.
