**** Pay Range: $19 - $23.48 per hour
** SCOPE:

Under general supervision, performs all clerical, secretarial and data management functions of the CT department. Assists with all duties regarding authorization and maintains relationships with other specialty providers involved in patient care. Initiates and/or maintains accurate logs of all patients referred for scans. Supports and adheres to company policies, including the code of ethics and business standards.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

-Works with Imaging Manager, CT Technologist, referring physicians, and sites to ensure that information is received on a timely basis.

-Obtains authorization from insurance carrier for all required/special services.

-Obtains all documentation relating to prior studies for accurate comparison.
-Answers, screens, and responds to routine questions via phone, electronic communications, or face to face contact, routes to appropriate personnel, or take thorough messages. Pages clinic personnel as appropriate. Communicates messages in an accurate and timely manner according to procedures.

-Greets patients and visitors to the clinic in a prompt, courteous and professional manner. Checks in patients and informs clinical staff of patient arrival.

-Provides and explains paperwork for the patient to complete prior to examination.

-Collects co-pays and balances and provides receipt.

-Provides general administrative support by filing charts and forms. Maintains a legible supply of forms and appropriate office supplies required for daily activities.
-Adheres to confidentiality, state, federal, and HIPAA laws and guidelines with regards to patient’s records.
-Other duties as requested or assigned.

-Records patient cancellations and missed appointments; reschedules appointments. Notifies appropriate staff of the cancellation and makes note in patient chart.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

High school diploma or equivalent. Minimum two years in one or more of the following areas: research assistance, medical transcription, medical assistance, medical record reimbursement/financial/business office in a health care setting.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to experience prolonged sitting, some bending, stooping, and stretching.

Requires eye-hand coordination and manual dexterity sufficient to operate a keyboard, photocopier, telephone, and other office equipment. Requires normal range of hearing and eyesight correctable to 20/20. Requires occasional lifting of up to 30 pounds.
