Salary Range: $46,220.72 - $64,709.01

Surgical Technologists are allied health professionals, who are an integral part of the team of practitioners providing surgical care to patients.

Surgical technologists work under the supervision of a registered nurse (RN) and a surgeon to facilitate surgical procedures, ensuring that the operating room environment is safe, that equipment functions properly, and that patient safety is maintained.

• Handle instruments, supplies, and equipment necessary during surgical procedures.
• Anticipate the surgeon's needs and maintain vigilance for maintaining the sterile field.
• Function independently in the scrub role and as a circulator under the supervision of the Registered Professional Nurse.
• Perform on-call duties and rotating shifts as required.
• Maintain sterile field, prepare operating rooms, and assist with patient positioning as needed.
• Inspect sterile items for contamination before opening, maintaining sterility while scrubbed.
• Maintain sterility of instruments and supplies.
• Perform accurate instrument, sponge and needle counts following established policies and procedures.
