As a key partner in the Albany Med Health System, the center plays an integral role in providing not-for-profit, regionally governed healthcare for northeastern New York and western New England.
Albany Medical Center is seeking a Biomedical Equipment Technician 2 for a full-time, on-site position in Albany, NY. The technician will perform preventive maintenance, calibration, and repair of medical equipment to ensure operational efficiency and compliance with safety regulations. Responsibilities include inspecting and testing equipment for performance, troubleshooting and repairing mechanical and electronic medical devices, and maintaining accurate service documentation. The technician will also support clinical staff by addressing equipment-related inquiries and providing technical assistance to ensure patient safety and quality care.
Qualifications- Proficiency in Equipment Maintenance and Equipment Repair
- Knowledge of Electrical Safety and Calibration standards
- Familiarity with operation and repair of Medical Equipment
- Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail
- Ability to work collaboratively with clinical teams and independently on technical tasks
- Associate degree in Biomedical Engineering, Electronics, or a related field preferred
- Experience with healthcare or hospital equipment is highly beneficial
- Previous work experience as a Biomedical Equipment Technician is an advantage
