OR, Surgical Technician (CST/ORT) – 13‑Week Contract Assignment

Albany, NY. This 13‑week contract position is performed with Senior Helpers at ATC Healthcare Services.

Base pay range
: $50.00/hr – $50.00/hr compensation is based on skills and experience.

The Surgical Technician assists in the nursing care and preparation of surgical patients, functioning as a member of the scrub team. Duties include donning gowns and gloves, maintaining a sterile field, issuing instruments to the surgeon, and ensuring accurate documentation of services provided.

• Comply with ATC policies, procedures, and client facility policies.
• Document services accurately and completely.
• Maintain confidentiality of patient care and facility practices in accordance with HIPAA.
• Communicate information effectively to appropriate personnel.
• Adhere to accepted ethical and professional standards.
• Prepare and pass instruments, sutures, sponges, and supplies to the operative team, maintaining correct counts.
• Demonstrate knowledge of surgical procedures, aseptic technique, and O.R. scrub procedure.
• Assist in maintenance and care of specimens.
• Provide patient services in a non‑judgmental, non‑discriminatory manner, respecting cultural diversity and age appropriateness.

• Completion of a surgical assisting program of study.
• Prefer national certification; national examination available through the Liaison Council on Certification (LCT).
• No required license.
• At least 1–2 years of experience as a Surgical Technician in a clinical setting.
• CPR certification as required by the client facility.
