Financial Analyst / Budget Analyst (Hybrid – Albany, NY) | 2-Year Contract
Peer Consulting Resources is hiring a Financial Analyst / Budget Analyst to support a large public-sector finance team on an enterprise transformation initiative.
Location: Albany, NY (Hybrid)
Type: Contract (2 years) | 37.5 hrs/week
Start: Targeting early March 2026
What you’ll do
- Set up and maintain program budgets in an enterprise financial system
- Support monthly/quarterly financial reporting and management reporting
- Prepare/process journal entries for the month/quarter close
- Assist with quarterly/annual financial statement compilation
- Reconcile subsidiary ledgers and general ledger accounts
- Partner with stakeholders and contribute to process improvements while maintaining internal controls
What we’re looking for (must-have)
- 3–5 years of experience reconciling GL + subledgers
- Strong experience supporting month/quarter close and journal entries
- Advanced Excel (pivots, lookups, large datasets)
- ERP/financial systems experience (People Soft strongly preferred)
- Strong written + verbal communication; ability to juggle priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Bachelor’s in Accounting/Finance/Business (Accounting background preferred)
